Although we are on the latter side of the hill with the half way mark behind us, the program is far from over and there is still a tremendous amount of material to soak up. Week 8 brings another intense project week; this project is focused on Data Access. Jimmy Robertson will be available to assist all students as they navigate through this week’s project specifications and requirements.

The new week also brings us to a critical point from the Career Development side; preparing for engagement. As previously discussed students should have been capturing screen shots of the project work they wish to display. At this point in the program they should be compiling these samples into a distributable format/document designed to support the job search and self marketing of their individual skills.  At the end of week 8 the 3 core marketing collateral/tools (Resume, LinkedIn Profile and Portfolio) should be complete and to a distributable point therefore making them ready for engagement with their regional placement specialist! Engagement marks a critical point as this is when the Placement Team officially launches the job search process from the SetFocus perspective. As you can imagine, this is an exciting time for both the student and the career development/placement teams!

For an example of a recently engaged .NET student, take a look at Dino Edsel Bansigan profile. Next week will begin the next leg of the Career Development/Placement journey – stay tuned!
