The start of another week is upon us and new material continues to flow. Lectures will resume this week and the focus will move to Querying SQL Server 2008. Wayne Wilkerson will be back in the classroom and providing his outstanding instruction and walking students through this new content.
From the Career Development side, students should have two of the three required marketing collateral tools completed. To begin working with their regional Placement Specialists students must complete a resume, LinkedIn profile and portfolio. Students should have their resume and LinkedIn profile polished and ready for distribution and be turning their sites to the portfolio. The portfolio is a visual representation of the project work completed here at SetFocus and any additional samples of work that will help market them and their skills. Students should be actively capturing screen shots of their project work and begin preparing to pull these screen shots together in a Word, PowerPoint or PDF document. Ideally students will officially engage and begin working with their Placement Specialist at week 8 so it is important that students begin putting the foundational pieces together for their portfolio now.
To help give a visual of student LinkedIn profiles I have included two links below. Both Mike and Nikita have graduated from the .NET SetFocus Masters program and accepted new positions. From these profiles you will see examples of language and keywords we integrate into the profile.

Next week is the official half way mark and is certain to be full of exciting new content for students to digest!
