I’m Claudia Maurer, Director of Alumni Relations and Career Development.  We welcome you to The Career Development Dish.

Rachel McIsaac is our Career Development Coordinator.  She delivers full service, professional and highly personalized Career Development coaching to SetFocus Placement Candidates.  Rachel coaches these Candidates through a detailed process that helps prepare them for hire.  This process includes tools that have been developed for use so our Candidates can successfully market themselves and their new skills.

Rachel has a background in coaching and counseling with a Psychology degree from the University of Oregon.  She and I will be providing you with a blog full of terrific tips and interesting information about all things “Career Development.”

We will be covering preparation tips for a successful job search.  You will find links to and synopses of current publications that focus on putting together the pieces…or what we like to call our “Steps for Success” needed to find your desired job.  You’ll find articles on resumes, networking, interviewing, social media, creating a portfolio, and job searching.

I will be adding thoughts…thoughts, reflections, and quotes…for contemplation.  The point in all of this…you choose what works for YOU to reach your life career goals.

And last but not least…we HAD George Pond…

George is Process Analyst at SetFocus and a 2009 grad of our Business Intelligence Masters program.

When he is not writing documentation, building databases and data warehouse tools, George contributes a weekly review of  networking websites.  Well…he was getting such terrific feedback from his blogs…so we gave him his own blog site.  You will see some of his early blogs here.

Get ready!  We hope you enjoy the ride!
